Been A While

Resident robin has been showing his little family off. Really lovely to see. . Made friends with one of the chimney magpies . It comes to visit often and has a good look in the patio window.

Weather has been not to bad . Overcast and windy at the moment. My friend the crow comes for a chat every now and again.

New strimmer and it works beautifully. But the grass needs a cut again . Grew so quick with all the rain we had.

New Resident?

The starling sat on the same branch in the apple tree and was singing his / her heart out. The sun shining on its feathers making them shimmer was a joy to look at. I think it’s the same starling was has been visiting the apple tree for the past few days . A new resident? Hope so.

April

Rain snow sleet all in one day plus sunshine. Grey warm days bitterly cold windy but bright sunshine days. All this greeted the beginning of April.

Rabbits in the field in the late afternoon early evening  , then a fox came along and ignored the rabbits.

A spider web hanging on the patio door handle in the high winds, looking like a miniature  trampoline bouncing up and down constantly.

Resident robin tends to visit in early morning then again in late afternoon .

Not Much Happening

Resident robin and mate have been very busy. So has the blue tits. The wren came to visit. The evenings are now getting lighter. Watching a hooded c4ow picking up nest building materials quite a large beak full it had. The honeysuckle is now sprouting it’s leaves think it’s going to be a good show. The daffodils are late but they are coming on and the tulips are just pushing through.

Flash Mob.

A flash mob of starlings landed in the apple tree , one blink  and they went again. A bird which I never seen before came into the garden. It darted around so quick I could really see it’s plumage properly. It was a small bird maybe from the tit family

All Things Birds

Resident robin and mate have spent so much time in the garden a joy to watch. In the background the blue tits fly to and fro. A female song thrush came to visit. My friend the crow escorted me up the garden path chattering away. Pigeons on the roof opposite doing what pigeons do. Then a starling came along and sat on the fence for a while. No sign of the magpies yet. Then the resident robin sat in amongst the clump of dandelions taking a drink from the rain which collected on the leaves .

Spring Is Coming

Daffodils, crocuses , snowdrops scattered in the grass verges promising that spring is round the corner. The resident robin sat on the fence and sung so beautiful. Wind and rain coming in slowly

Winds

Watching some birds flying through the very strong winds. How they do that I do not know.  The leaning tv aerial is still going strong in the winds. The huge clump of dandelions are bent over now due to the winds. The front lawn is covered in the small violet flowers looking good. Soon the daffodils and tulips be poking their heads through .
