quiet,train shed & recommend.

1.life has been very quiet for a little while, which is good.time to recharge myself.
2.went and helped to put a garden shed up, the bulk of the work was done , it was all the niggerly bits what needed help, as it is going to be a model train shed , not a garden shed!and it's looking good.
3.needed to get some more wood and was recommended a builders yard, which was off the beaten track, and they was very helpful couldn't do enough for us . they also was polite and courteous and even though we didn't spend a lot of money ,we where made to feel like valued customers. thank you lawsons. we shall come again and also recommend you.

the conker has landed.

the horse chestnut trees have finally dropped their beautiful shiny brown conkers. seeing their green prickly cases open and the creamy insides peeking out and the conkers lying nearby, means one thing to me that autumn has finally arrived.
the beech tree near me has begun to drop its bounty, soon it will be crunch crunch time as we walk over them as the beech tree is loaded with nuts and usually there is a thick layer of nuts on the ground.
and finally the sweet chestnut tree is dropping its bounty, and it wont be long and the squirrels will be walking along the fence to get to this wonderful feast.

spider and web.

it's good that i am not afraid of spiders as i walked straight through a spider's web, complete with spider and a beautiful spider it was and so was it's web. i said sorry to the spider that i walked through its web, but it didn't seem to mind, as it started to spin an other one.
the weather in my neck of the woods is grey and gloomy, but warm.
but i have notice a lot of berries red ones, orange ones on my walks. looking in gardens as i pass along i have notice the the plants are beginning to bed down . but there are a few brave ones still out.

out of town again.

once again i went out of town and by train again.there was so much to see,i noticed that the leaves are beginning to change there colours. by the looks of things its going to be a good years for conkers.
the sunset was so beautiful as we travelled through farm land the sky was a pink, mauve grey colour.
nearer to home the other day i walked by my old primary school and the hawthorn hedge is still there, it was so nice to see that it was still there.

river

i had a look at the sweet chestnut tree when i walked passed and saw that there are quite a lot of sweet chestnuts, so it might not be a bad year for them.
the river that i pass when i go to work looks ok, but  it has quite a lot of weed in it and a lot of rubbish old footballs ,empty beer cans etc. its a shame because its a lovely river going through a a lovely village. hopefully it will be cleaned out soon.
then when i was walking home i saw the littlest snails going ,they looked so cute and they were leaving the tiniest silvery trails going.

parakeets.

while waiting for a bus i saw some parakeets flying over. when i used to take son to primary school, we used to see them everyday day flying over. i am not sure where there go to at the end of the day, but they go to gardens near where i live during the day.
it will not be long and the huge beech tree near me will drop its nuts. and we will be walking on a carpet of nuts, crunch crunch. and the squirrels will be walking along the fence soon to help themselves to the beech nuts. also near me is a sweet chestnut tree , the year before last there was a huge bounty of sweet chestnuts, but last year there was not a lot at all. this year i am not sure looking at the tree .it seems to have more leaves than anything else.
the weather now has changed to more autumnal ,the chill is in the air now and the rain has started. now the tidying up in the garden can start.

skein of geese.

a skein of geese flew over in the early morning. i heard them before i saw them. i would love to know what they were saying. and the morning sky was a lovely rosy pink colour.
i walked past the river near where i work, but really did not have time to look at it properly as my bus came. i have really missed the river, not been pass it for about 3 weeks.
