A hard frost greets the morning . Twinkling in the moonshine . The paths and roads are like ice staking rinks.
Sure I saw a white butterfly fly pass, but there again who knows , definitely not a leaf, must be seeking things. A phantom butterfly?
this is a blog about nature in a small town and the surrounding countryside.

Sure I saw a white butterfly fly pass, but there again who knows , definitely not a leaf, must be seeking things. A phantom butterfly?
A long pink cloud looking like unfurled candy floss adorns the early morning sky. Which promises to be a nice but cold winter’s day. No white stuff yet but it’s been promised.
The robin family and the blue tit family have created an alliance, they seem to like each other as we know robins are very territorial. Nice to see.
A Fox runs straight out in front of me it stopped look at me then carried on. Wondered what it was thinking .
A promise of snow, but at the moment it is very wet out there no rain but a watery sun.
The resident robin prefers the third fence post he sits there for a while quite often . The post is now known as Robin’s post!
The rain lashed down so hard it made the windows vibrate. A lone gull sitting on the tv aerial is ether being brave , really likes the storm or just silly. I take it , it likes the storm.
A dull wet cold xmas and windy as well. The resident robin popped out to say hello. Apart from that so quiet.
The snail leaving its silvery trail behind as it criss crosses the window trying to find somewhere to over winter,
The seagulls ride the thermals high above in the winter blue sky and they are silent for a change
The seagull on top of a mobile mast squawking its heart out saying I prefer the old fashioned way of communication. Boy was he/she loud!
The honking of the geese as they fly by , startle the magpies on the roofs and they fly off.
A nice sunny but cold winter day and seagulls circling above.
The early morning song of the robin fills the bathroom with the patter of the rain magical sounds .
The large black clouds scurries over so quick they drop a few rain drops then they are gone
Being serenaded by the cooing of a pigeon, whilst a wren investigates the honeysuckle.
A cloud in a shape of a lizard floats gently by.
The handsome dog fox came visiting again just for the one afternoon and night . He curled up on the lawn in the back garden . Look at me to say hello and went to sleep. So pleased he feels that he can comeback to me.
Resident robin sitting alongside a blue tit on the fence. Both have got a nest each in the big bush at the back of the garden .
Walking home on a very wet and windy day I met with a grey and black crow, it hopped along for a short while chattering to me . Then all off a sudden it flew off chattering. Maybe it wanted to share my umbrella or wanted some company .
The full moon beams down gently with its bright beams. A rustle is heard on the ground not far, then a silent glide of an owl shadow.
The white and black cat shared drinking out of the upturned dustbin lid with the resident robin.
The squirrel came hurtling from nowhere and surprised the black cat so much the she fell of the fence .
Standing on the first floor of a supermarket looking at the horizon nothing but trees and bushes in my eyes view. Seeing the colour of late autumn and leaves clinging tightly on the branches like that they don’t want to drop. And a bit nearer some crows over head circling not sure what they saw
3 pheasants in a field digging around for something to eat. Thinking I saw a bat in the near distance turned out to be a dead leaf drifting
A brisk walk and came to a butterfly bush hanging over a fence looking at a clump of evening primroses looking all forlorn.
2 crows squabbling over food scraps, looking like prize fighters.
The resident robin is heard but not seen. An other disused tv aerial is being used for a nest base.
A walk home in the evening is so refreshing in the wind and fine rain. The leaves are now a soggy mess and last week they were still crisp and crunchy. A Fox is startled as I walk by .
The next door cat popped it’s head around the patio door , do feel sorry for it as since they got the dog the cat is largely ignored, it is fed but spends most of its time outside and this is the cat that bullied mine!
2 magpies sheltering under the eaves of the house opposite and if I remember the rhyme it’s 2 for joy.
A typical November morning grey and dull but no rain at the moment. Been lucky with the weather this November had some really beautiful days,
The clouds are racing along as to see if they get somewhere quick.
Walked passed a fence completely covered in rose hips. It made me think of the rose hips syrup what was made for babies years ago.
Fine rain in the wind and the sun out very mild but a bit of a chilly wind. Very changeable the November weather
The front lawn is hiding under a carpet of sweet chestnut leaves . Parakeets seem to be nesting quite near as you hear them chatter and squawk between themselves. A white and black cat takes a drink out of the upturn dustbin lid.
When cloudy was the weather , an old nursery rhyme I remember, well that turned into a beautiful November day . And parakeets are nesting in a block of flats .
A wriggly worm wriggling on its way to I don’t nowhere , in the rain , if my sister was there she would of picked it up and put it on the grass, me I left it there as it looked happy.
Got soaked in the rain and the high winds ? Good job I wasn’t on my broomstick.
Saw the squirrel run across the fence nearly falling off the fence at first thought it was running to get out of the rain, then I saw next door door cat! Say no more.
A damp but reasonably bright autumn morning. A squirrel runs along the top of the fence to go and gather some sweet chestnuts that have fallen just recently. The green prickly cases and the creamy white insides contrasts very well and if you are lucky you see a brown sweet chestnut nestling inside adding to the autumnal colours. At times nature is beautiful.
