Where is the rain? They keep saying we shall have rain, but it’s not yet arrived. We had a spot or two, but nothing much yet. The rain clouds come over but pass over so quick even if it does want to rain it wouldn’t have chance to as the rain clouds zoom pass fast.
this is a blog about nature in a small town and the surrounding countryside.

Grinder & Tree
The grinding sound filled a rather grey dull day , it sounded like the grinder was matching the day. A tree stump was being removed as it diseased. But not quite in the same place but near an other tree was planted to replace the diseased one .

Raven.9
The raven walks up from one end of the path to the other as he does he pecks away at the grass verge, then he takes flight right over my head that I actually feel his wings and he caws as he goes past.
Sunshine Later?
After a few lovely spring days the overcast weather came in . The sky is just grey and white no blue to be seen. But the weather people say that the sunshine will be along later.
No signs of the slugs and snails maybe it is still to cold for them or that they have gone elsewhere.

Magic
The scent of the bluebells wafted through the wood along side with the scent of the trees and grass added to to a nice gentle stroll through the woods. The breeze was chilly but it helped to carry the scent through the woods. The rustle of the leaves and the bird songs added magic to a lovely spring morning walk .

Magnificent
The early morning coolness promises to turn into an other beautiful day. The two beech trees are now in full leaf looking really magnificent. The pigeon in one of them thinks so too! It is cooing to his heart’s content.

Quiet and Quite.
A quiet sunny clear blue sky afternoon, nothing going on much apart from the not quite blustery wind and the birds riding the thermals.

Sparrow Hawk
An occasional visitor landed on the chimney pot and the birds all hid and kept quiet , the sparrow hawk just sat and rested awhile. Then it flew of and the birds still kept quiet for a while until the sparrow hawk was in the distance and then the robin sounded the signal the all clear song and then all the birds either flew out or sang .

Gracefully
2 pigeons do a low fly past nearly flying into the window. Starlings under the eaves making a noise walking up and down. Pitter patter pitter patter. A cabbage white butterfly gracefully flies around and lands for a few seconds on the clump of dandelions.

Glorious
Enjoying the beautiful sunsets on the way home from work. The glorious colours which you cannot really describe takes my breath away. A fine spring morning with a little dusting of frost makes way for a beautiful spring day .

Frost
The tulips are bending over due to the frost in the morning. But hopefully they will recover. The sun was a huge orange and yellow ball shining so brightly in the evening sky . The resident robin took a turn around his garden again then sat upon the honeysuckle and sang for a while.

Change.
The change from the really warm weather last week to the really cold but dry weather this week is a bit of a shock. Mother Nature seems to cope better. At the moment all is quiet apart from the 2 ravens who are on sentry duty . Hopping to and fro on the roof top .

Red
Frosted red tulips greeted the morning. But even though they drooped a bit they still are looking good. The resident robin took an early morning stroll around the garden his territory then decides to take a drink out of the water butt. The cat sat on the fence watching and knowing that the robin knew that she was there.

Quiet
A drive through the countryside at night was so quiet apart from traffic there was not any movement at all even no wind. Then in the morning the wind had decided to come back with a vengeance and fine rain.

Pink
A dusty pink hue covered the grey clouds when the sun began to set. A bird song was muffled by the oncoming traffic so didn’t find out what bird was singing. Then the evening crept in very quickly
