Plums and Wasps

A red admiral butterfly resting on the wheelie bin box catching a few gentle sun rays. Friend has some burrowing wasps in his strawberry patch.  As it’s bang next to a plum tree  whose branches are loaded with plums and so many have dropped so the wasps are having a fine old time. But fortunately in a way the tree is right at the back of the garden . But not sure what he is going to do with the wasps .

A Bit Slower.

The vintage bus drove under the canopy of trees in the lane. The sunlight managed to get through in some places to lighten the dark green of the canopy. Then came upon a patch of thistles swaying in the wind. Just like days gone by when life was a bit slower.

Butterflies and Bush

The overgrown butterfly bush has quite a few butterflies on it . The contrast of the purple flowers and the butterflies  is striking. A quiet breezy day otherwise. Even the birds are quiet. Not seen the roof scaling magpie or heard it for a while .

Return

The handsome dog fox has made a returned visit and he is as gorgeous as ever. He just looked at me said hello and went back to sleep. But it won’t be long and he be off on his travels again. Making the most of his company. It’s really a honour that he comes back every now and again.  Bless him.

Suppers

Watching a heron watching the water for its supper. Two rarities,  on the drive home a bat flew across the car, and in the field a bit further down the lane in an other field an owl swoops down catching its supper.

Waltz

Sitting watching the sunlight dancing across the small waves on the lake. It seems like the waves and the sun was dancing a waltz. 2 rooks playing chicken on the busy road. Mad they are .

Perfect Evening

A slow walk home from the bus stop on a beautiful summer evening . The air was so soft and fresh , the setting sun  was gloriously warm perfect.walking under a canopy of leaves slightly rustling in the breeze. The cawing of some birds getting ready for the night. Overhead a flock of parakeets fly home to roost.  The beech trees rustle their leaves as I walk past them , seem to say goodnight and hoped you enjoyed your walk home. Thank you beech trees I did enjoyed my walk home and goodnight to you both.

Interesting

Near a bus stop is a small but dense undergrowth. Not very big it’s on the main road. Trees loom right over and the vegetation is very thick underneath the trees . It must be a haven for wildlife  and insects. Must take more notice when I go pass on the bus. Interesting.

Quiet Sunday

Warm and muggy. Very windy . Promise of more rain later. Watching a magpie scaling a roof it does it so effortlessly. While that is happening two seagulls are riding the thermals. The resident robin popped out had a good look then a drink from the water butt. Then decides to have a dirt bath.
